The owner is ridiculously long-winded when describing his car on the auction page. But here's the gist of the story (although, I didn't read everything the guy wrote). Apparently the owner was dead-set on creating his perfect BMW. Following many upgrades (body, interior, engine etc), 5 years of his life and roughly a $92,000 net project cost, his vision was complete. Now, for some reason, he thinks maybe he wants to sell it, though he's not sure, and will only accept $250k.
Here is part of Koorosh's (that's the owner) description of how his 6-series came to be:
"My vision was a very powerful E24 which was modern looking and had the performance of today's sport cars without any sacrifice with every day driving reliability. I wanted more power and reliability than what a european M635CSi could offer (286 HP). I chose the most reliable BMW motor ever built, the S38B36 motor out of a 1993 BMW M5 (E34) and with some modifications including larger camshafts to achieve higher compression, thicker head gasket, resurfaced head and new head bolts. I have been able to achieve outstanding performance matching its reliability."
He goes on to note in an update to the listing:
"I decided today that it is not worth parting with my baby for less than $250,000. So the price starts here, regardless of any logic. It's mine and when someone wants it they have to pay my price to get it, period. Otherwise one shall build his/her own."
My thoughts? I think the car does look great but certainly not worth $250k. I think the words "regardless of any logic" sum this up well. Check out the eBay auction page for the whole story.
