2011 Volvo S60 - First Official Photos Released

At first glance of Volvo's new S60 concept nearly a year ago, I knew this car was going to be special. The only question was, would the production car look as good as the concept? The answer is a resounding yes. Today, Volvo released the first official photos of the 2011 Volvo S60 in production form.

As Volvo states, the all-new 2011 Volvo S60 is "sportier and more dynamic than any previous Volvo model." Which I couldn't agree with more. Expanding on the new styling, Stephen Odell, President and CEO of Volvo Cars notes; "The all-new Volvo S60 is sculpted to move you. It looks and drives like no other Volvo before and the car's technology will help you to be safer and more confident behind the wheel."

Although no specifications have been released yet (engine, horsepower, performance, dimensions etc), we do know the 2011 Volvo S60 can be equipped with Volvo's Pedestrian Detection which is "a groundbreaking safety feature that can detect pedestrians in front of the car and brake automatically if the driver does not react in time."

Look for the all-new 2011 Volvo S60 to make it's official world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March. Production will then start in the summer of 2010 at Volvo's production facility in Ghent, Belgium.

The all-new Volvo S60 is being unveiled to the public for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in early March next year. Production of the sporty sedan model will start in early summer 2010 at the Volvo Cars plant in Ghent, Belgium.

"Customers in this segment want emotional appeal, sporty design and dynamic driving properties. The S60 has it all. We are convinced that it will be one of the strongest contenders around," says Stephen Odell.
